I was obsessed with Word Searches growing up. I always wanted to be the first one to find all of the words. I’m very competitive like that! Now that I’m a teacher I want to include some of that fun into my classroom too. However, nowadays we have to justify every little thing we are doing in the classroom because we can rarely “just have fun.” Therefore, I designed these Halloween Grammar Word Searches so students can have the fun of Halloween and word searches. There are three word searches with Halloween themed nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Students will have fun looking for these Halloween inspired nouns, verbs, and adjectives in these Halloween Grammar Word Searches. All of the word searches are ten letters by ten letters with words that only go horizontally and vertically. There are no backwards words or diagonal words that cause students frustration making these great for younger elementary students! What I love about these is that while students are having fun finding the words they are also practicing their reading skills and developing their vocabulary. My daughter is in first grade this year and was able to read most of the words on her own, but she did ask me what several of the words meant, which I love!
Early finishers can flip their paper over and can practice their writing skills on the back. Then, they can write a sentence, or even a story, on the back using words from the word search.
